Steve Spratt

Biography/Experience

Steve was born in Providence RI and returned to New Hampshire, where his mother was raised, in 1976. Growing up the family spent every summer in New Hampshire in around the ancestral home towns of Freedom and Ossipee and visiting the site of the family owned Knight Homestead in Peterborough. Steve has been married to his wife Debra, a New Hampshire native, for 24 years.

He graduated from Providence College with majors in History and English. It was there he learned the difference between problem solving and problem identification.

Early on he was taught by his family about the importance of giving back to the community (See public service record) and the benefits of good old fashioned hard work. Today he and his wife continue that ethic by being heavily involved in community efforts and restoring their 3rd (and he says final) home in the historic center of Greenville.

Steve has long been involved in community and public works. Before becoming self-employed he worked in the computer industry beginning his career at IBM. As a freelance writer he has contributed numerous articles to newspapers and magazines. His interests include home restoration, sports, history, antiques and pencil/pen and ink drawings of traditional New England landscapes.
